My release is on sale for $9.99 / £7.99 and I was just wondering
how much of that is paid to CDBaby, more to the point, how
much does iTunes keep?

I thought iTunes pay CDBaby, and then CDBaby pays the artist
out of what iTunes just paid them.

Unless something has changed recently, it works like this:
iTunes pays $0.70 to CDBaby
Out of this money:
CDBaby then pays you $0.637 (%91)
and keeps $0.063 (%9)

Man, maths was easily my worst subject in school...I guess we're
all doomed to get shafted. In any case, hire the right people and
you can do well. THanks for the info.

How does that constitute shafting? Apple pays for the hosting and bandwidth for the files. The artists gets well over 50% of the net income.
Paul McCartney didn't get the percentage as a Beatle..

I agree with Colie. CD Baby has that information posted on the website, and you agreed to it when you gave them your album to distribute.
