Why is it that Amazon.com sells our mp3's for 99 cents, yet we only get paid around 36 cents?
Are they making that big a profit off of us??

Not sure about digital stuff, but Amazon usually takes 55% of the money on items sold.

Anybody know when amazon pay artist from cdbaby is it 1 or every three months.
Also how many cds do they order at a time being my cds are temporarily out of stock and that i have notice with most artist from cdbaby on amazon.

CDBaby doesn't distribute PHYSICAL CD's to Amazon.com, only digital .mp3 albums.

AmazonMP3's plan is to sell world wide, but I don't think they've activated that ability yet.

Not sure where that 36 cent figure is coming from. We've sold some mp3 tracks at Amazon.com and we received 63.7 cents for each one. It appears that Amazon MP3 is paying CD Baby 70 cents for individual tracks (the same as the iTunes store). CD Baby deducts its 9% commission and the rest shows up in your CD Baby account.

Below, I've copied and pasted the info on CD Baby's digital sales page for 2 of our songs that were sold on Amazon...precisely $0.364...so if you're getting 63.7 cents, I'm getting hosed!

Then I'm completely confused -- below is the info from my account. The individual songs are selling for 99 cents, just like yours, so I can't understand why there's any difference.
I'd contact CD Baby directly, maybe there was an error on Amazon.com's end.
