I check my digital links today and notice that the link for
Napster was missing so i called.I was told that thay were
upgrading the music files.My biggest question is will all four of
my albums be there after this is done.I have being doing a lot of
promotion this year for my new album Return Of The Pharaoh
more than ever.And I have not recieve a payment for streams for
2008 at all.Last year thay paid out every three months and i was
paid on time.I love cdbaby and know this is the best company
for independent artist.I know this because I have been with them
for 4 years and have 7 albums selling here.I have not recieve a
payment from Napster for 2008 and im just trying to find out
whats going on.I have been listening to Napster for years and
not just my music so i know i have streams for this year.This is
not personal its business i dont think its fair to have to wait 4 &
5 to get paid.

We were getting paid by Napster on a regular basis, right alongside our iTunes payments. We alos have not received anything from Napster this year. Have they sent any reports to CDBaby?

I, too, noticed that Napster dropped off my list of digital distributors. I e-mailed CDBaby and was told that they are re-delivering the music at a higher quality. Sounds good. But something seems to be askew. My Napster digital income is way off for 2008. I have received some income, but it is sporadic and in a much smaller quantity than last year.

Napster has now rolled out a whole new service. All downloads are now unprotected mp3s that will sell for .99 cents each. They were struggling to keep afloat with their subscription-only service, so now they will be competing directly with Amazon.
My last income from Napster was posted on March 24. I don't expect any more until CD Baby gets the newly encoded mp3s over to Napster.

I don't care for Napster too much, but am sure they should pay me what they earned from my stuff. I received quite a lot the last year from streams (was actually a surprise), and this year 0 so far (nothing, nada...)
If they intend to go out of business, they should pay us before that ;(
