Hey Everybody!
I came across this site that allows artists to submit their music so that i can be used in commercial ventures. The site is called Pump Audio and here is the address
http://www.pumpaudio.com/artists/index.php
The site seems pretty straight forward and honest. Their objectives are outlined very clearly on the front page.
It seems legit but as usual I'm skeptical about getting ripped off.
Has anybody heard anything about it? Has anybody used it.
It seems like a good idea but is it?
Thanks
John

I've just signed up with Pump Audio and would agree it seems all straightforward. Time will tell if it actually does anything.
I've also seen a new site which is used by predominantly student film-makers which might be worth a look. You can promote your music and could be a good way to get in on the ground floor with the Speilbergs of tomorrow?

Pump Audio is legit and an up front company. Been around for several years. They do what they say. Go for it.

I was going to submit songs to them until I found out they were going to change all my song titles with BMI. No way, Jose!

The reason why licensing companies change the names to the
reporting agencies is to track their sales of your songs exclusively.
Think about it. If the same song they sell to a commercial is played
on the radio, how would they know what they owed you for the
commercial plays?
If anyone ever wants to change the names of the songs, they
usually will simply put a tag on its original name. ALSO make sure
in the contract this is a clause for you to audit their system at least
twice a year, so, if things got fishy, you can check out what they've
been up to.

I agree with Kiley..I am with a company that changed the names of my songs. When I look in my BMI catalog it shows the different names as new entries along with the the percentage terms agreed upon in the contract between me and the company. Go For It!!!! because you still have the full right to your songs in it's original name to do with as you please. Look at it this way, it's an opportunity to get your music promoted in the biggest media format in the world ...TELEVISION.
