CD Baby Podcast wants your story!
posted by Chris Bolton on Monday April 28 2008 @ 08:19PM PDT
    News from Inside Hello everyone!

CD Baby Podcast has a very special proposal for you that's fun and involves free promotion for you!

But first . . .We just posted episode 25! You should definitely check it out (familiarity with our show and its vibe will get you brownie points!) Also, If you haven't listened to our 2 part series on sync licensing--then do! You'll thank us later (I promise).

    http://cdbabypodcast.com

The very first roundtable for the CD Baby Podcast was about some of the mistakes we've made along the way in our music careers. We'd like to do this again, but this time we want YOU to tell the story
of how YOU goofed and learned a lesson--so that others can laugh and cry and benifit from your wisdom gained.

Now, there are a few different ways you can send us the story.

Audio is the best! (Yes, that's right we'll put you on the radio. We'll even put a link to the website or web-page of your choice on our website).

Here are a few options :

    1. Call this number and tell your story after the beep. 206-426-5683 (This is a little tricky if it's a long story. If you are silent for more than 4 or 5 seconds it may cut you off. doh).

    2. You can send us a .wav file of you telling the story. if you're tech savvy you can try ftp or something like http://www.yousendit.com or you can mail it to us on a disk.

    3. For those of you who just want to write it--that's fine too. Just reply to this email. We can read it on the air.

We'll accept submissions until May 20th, 2008 (we'll need them in hand by may 20th)

We just want to hear about how you forgot to bring your drummer to the gig, or booked your metal band at a business conference or whatever other goofs, oversights, or mishaps that have made you a stronger, smarter, and healthier musician in the longrun.

Please try to keep the stories under 7 minutes in audio time. Thanks!

P.S. If you are going to mail a disk, let us know first. And don't use media mail (because it takes forever).

    Thanks,

Thank you. It will be interesting to hear the mistake stories. I probably could come up with a dozen of my own.

I love the podcasts you've been releasing at http://www.cdbabypodcast.com

It's amazing to play them on big speakers and lay back on a couch and just listen!

I couldn't seem to get to the right site with the Latch Key Kid URL given at cdbabypodcast.com http://keykid.org/media.php

Oh whoops! Must have forgotten the "Latch" in "LatchKeyKid"

    Thanks Steven!

    I'll fix it!

Also, feel free to share one of those stories with us! You can
call that number and just talk.

I forgot to remind everybody to email us after you call, to make
sure we have your contact info etc.

    Hi,
This has nothing to do with the podcast, I have been trying to upload the art for my album, but I am not able to find where it is that I have to upload it. i would appreciate very much getting the info. I have been through all the cdbaby pages and can't seem to find it.

Yhank you very much and I hope to hear from you very soon,
    Alina Browuer.

I have noticed that in both 2006 and 2007 there were no digital postings in May. Is this just a coincidence or is May a designated catch up month?

Email fixes@cdbaby.com and send them a 1000 X 1000 No compression rbg tiff file and ask them to use it and give them your username and which cd its for. Thats how I got mine uploaded.

Thanks for answering that one Alina! You hit it on the nose.

We'll have a new episode posted in about a week. So I guess we're
    debunking the Dave's May theory.

We are working at finding more consistency in our posting
    schedule.

It's kinda random, because we're all so busy :)
