Hey there CD Baby members!
I'm currently getting ready to wrap up my next project with my artist Sean Jay.
We've been kind of torn on who we want to go through for manufacturing.
So far, the only manufacturer we have been very impressed with is Oasis CD.
We got their catalog in the mail and their products are really nice. Also, the free tools of promotion that they give you with each project is nice, too.
I was curious to know if any of you have ever used them on a project.
I wanted to know how do they go about getting your CD for sale on places like CD Baby, etc?
When your order is complete, do they go ahead and register your products with these retailers? Or do they send you the forms to get you started with these retailers?
Also, how's the compilation sampler they send out each month?
I read that they give you a list of everyone they send the sampler to so you can contact them and get feedback on your material.
Seems pretty cool.
If you have any good or bad feedback on Oasis CD please post here. I want to see what others like me have to say.
Thank you.

I had an EXCELLENT experience with Oasis. I would highly recommend them. They pay for the CD Baby membership, as well as many other Tools of Promotion, all of which are given at no additional charge. What I liked best about them is they have the same tools that Disc Makers has, but it is all inclusive in the price. It's well worth the cost. And everyone I worked with from start to finish were genuinely nice people. I'd definitely keep them high on the list...

I highly recommend Oasis CD Manufacturing. They are truly a one stop shop and they went above and beyond to get my project completed on time and it was done with excellence! Please tell them I referred you.

I just received my shipment of CDs last Tuesday for my new album Die Laughing. This was the second time I have used Oasis. They are genuinely nice people and they know their stuff. They do very good work. They're not the cheapest out there but you get what you pay for.
As for CDBaby, they pay the sign up fee. You have to set up your album on CDBaby.com and send them the CDs yourself. Same with Amazon.

Kevin,
By all means, go with Oasis. They were an excellent company to
work with, particularly as I had to be my own production/layout
artist on my recording project. Their production art department
answered all of my questions graciously, and I got almost
exactly what I expected visually (the only hitch was a mistaken
assumption on my part that Oasis could not possibly have
anticipated or overcome without being clairvoyant). Oasis's
Tools of Promotion are great, too. Go for it.

I found a Canadian manufacturer much cheaper than Oasis (Digital Sunspot), but if you want a US manufacturer, go with Oasis by all means, their prices are quite competitive in the US.

oasis is the best. duplication is 100%, printing is 100%, promises are 100% kept, and the coolest part was how totally excited they got working on my project.....also lots of on-going and continous support after the project is fineshed...to see samples of their work go to my cdbaby page. then when you do your project with them, tell 'em I said there's nobody better

Oasis is trustworthy, the TOP are great, and they are very professional and the product will look like a million bucks. They are not the fastest though, even if their catalog makes it seem like if you need your stuff ASAP that they could make it happen, count on at least 4-5 weeks, at least thats what it takes for my indie label. Have no idea yet about the comp, as its almost 3 months later and we have not heard any more about it - we registered for it but I guess they only come out once or twice a year...I hope to hear something soon. With the TOP you still have to do all the work, it is just that they send you a kit with codes and stuff that gets you free access to all the places - but you still have to fill out all the stuff, do the legwork, send in the cd's, etc...and Amazon is slow as hell. Our cd is selling great on Amazon but it takes them forever to re-order it or when they do to put it back in stock.
Bottom line, Oasis is great if you can afford it, and is worth the peace of mind as you can call them and talk to someone during any business day, I am hesitant to send my money to some of the cheaper places...

Oasis is the place folks. I can't afford them right now but once I sell my targeted number of hand packaged/signed CD's which are all manufactured here in my studio, I will go with them. Oasis in Virginia are just a few miles from my home and I can walk in any time. If you can ley them know that I send them all the best and highly recommend them. You will never go wrong with Oasis.

I hear good things about Oasis. DiscMakers is the best for the money with all the extras they include. They're the CDBaby of manufacturing. However, I recently finished recording and decided to duplicate CD-R's with Lance Smith Company in Manhattan. He'll do short runs, including laser text (only, no graphics) onto the disc for under a buck a piece. I've been using different cases and sell just as few as my last products, all with gorgeous graphics and shrink wrap - - sitting in my basement. Custom manufacturing and distribution is the coming wave. Keep your money in your pocket.

Hi all, i used discmakers as well because they did finish faster than oasis cd but they are both good companies, however for shorter runs(100 cds at a time) at the cheapest prices i have ever encountered plus quality, i have been using IMC cd duplicators. Email them to see for your self if interested, they do 100 cds in full color on disc printing in slim line cases for about 150 bucks and the text only rates are even more unbelievable, from $45-$85 or so depending on packaging. Here is their email, just for short runs if you wish. They may even be doing longer runs now but i don't know for sure. Impactmngtcorp@aol.com Goodluck :)

I recently used a company called New Cyberian Systems, Inc. in San Jose, CA. Their pricing structure is very simple and straightforward -- $0.48 per CD for 1000 with high quality offset printing. Their web address is http://www.newcyberian.com and their email is sales@newcyberian.com

I like about New Cyberian's DVD Duplication too, actually DVD replication to be exact. 1000 real pressed DVD with offset printing for $740. That seems to be the lowest on the web. Has anyone tried them?

I like about newcyberian.com for its Instant Quote with picture and pricing updates. That allows me to see exactly when I am ordering. The site is very informative and clear. Highly recommended!

you all realize that Disc Makers and Oasis are now the same company, correct?

I don't know about Oasis. But Discmakers is the worst company you would want your disc replicated. They spend too much money on advertisement. When they reduce the price, they lower the quality too. I prefer to deal with other smaller companies such as proactionmedia.com or newcyberian.com.

Please consider http://www.veassociates.com. We've worked with Mercedes Benz, The Discovery Channel, Ketel One, and many other large companies. We specialize in CD duplication and replication. Please call us at877-474-7277 for a quote.

Oasis and Disc Makers are the same company.
They both suck.
Go with Crystal Clear or AtoZmedia.

I like new cyberian, http://www.newcyberian.com, better than all the others. Their website is so easy to use. I got lost when I landed on other websites. Just my opinion.

We're using Oasis right now and so far they have been great. One thing you want to keep in mind is the difference between duplication and replication. Although very similar, the difference is in the longevity and quality of the discs. Duplication is just a duplicate CDR and is usually done for short runs whereas replication is normally done 1000 or more and the discs are higher quality and will last longer.

Let me share my experience.
In the beginning I tended to look for companies that offered the lowest price. There are many companies in the LA area that offers super low prices but after trying few of them I gave up. The quality of their products simply sucks. You can use their discs as sandpaper as the printing on the disc was so rough. I also tried discmaker, oasis, and few other seemingly BIG companies. Their quality was not the worse but mediocre at best.
For jewel cases most companies use polywrap which is fine. But for digipak I hate to see the way they shrink wrap it. The only company uses polywrap on digipak is New Cyberian. You can tell they have invested a lot of effort in quality.
I highly recommended New Cyberian because they are good at what they are doing. The website, www.newcyberian.com, is very simple and straightforward. Be careful on other copycats when they say there is no hidden fees but below their banner there is fine print that says "Film Output - $25 per Color." New Cyberian doesn't charge film output at all.
