Breathing Room's CD featured on NPR Radio
posted by Breathing Room on Tuesday March 11 2003 @ 11:24PM PST
Marketing Ideas Breathing Room's debut CD, "Namo Namah" was featured on National Public Radio.

The lesson here is ALWAYS carry a few extra promo cards and CDs.

I went to a Third Coast Festival radio documentary show a few weeks ago and at the reception met a producer from the Chicago NPR station. When I told him about my recently released CD of Western instrumentation meets Indian Chant, he showed some interest.

Luckily--no, not luck, it was due to skill that I had promo-postcards on hand.

After reading the card he said he'd like to hear the CD and consider it for his show which does a ten minute feature on area musicians. I handed him a CD that night and two days later he called to say "I really enjoyed the CD. The music is beautiful and we'll feature it on the show this week."

Fan mail and new orders started coming in the day it aired. We even got a query from a music reviewer from the Journal of American Massage Therapists Association as a result.

My music is not the college tour fare, but the principal of being prepared at all times because you never know who you will meet is universal for all genres.

Hear and buy the Breathing Room CD at cdbaby.com/breathingroom.

    Happy music making,
    Betsy from Breathing Room

Thank you for the great advice, it goes to show you can rise to the top even in a sea of Hindu mantras which are riding the popularity wave of yoga at present.

It is sound good advice and it doesn't cost much for cards so keep up the good work and good luck!
